Save a ringtone

Save audio files, such as .mid, .mp3, or .wav files, to the BlackBerry Curve smartphone memory or a media card.

  1. From your smartphone, click a ringtone on a web page.
  2. While playing the ringtone, press the Menu key.
  3. Click Save.
Play a ringtone
  1. In the media application of your smartphone, click Ringtones.
  2. Click a media folder that contains ringtones.
  3. Click a ringtone.
Download a ringtone from mobile.blackberry.com

Verify that your wireless service provider supports this feature.

  1. Go to http://mobile.blackberry.com on your smartphone.
  2. Click the Downloads link and go to the Free Ringtones page.
  3. After accepting the Terms and Conditions, choose the ringtone type that you would like to download.
  4. Click the ringtone you would like and, while it is playing, press the Menu key.
  5. Click Save.
Rename a ringtone

You can only rename media files that you have added.

  1. In the media application of your smartphone, click Ringtones.
  2. Click a media folder that contains ringtones.
  3. Highlight a ringtone.
  4. Press the Menu key.
  5. Click Rename.
  6. Type a name for the file.
  7. Click Save.
Change a ringtone
  1. In the media application of your smartphone, click Ringtones.
  2. Click a media folder that contains ringtones.
  3. Highlight a ringtone.
  4. Press the Menu key.
  5. Click Set As Phone Tune.
  6. Click OK.
Set a ringtone for a specific contact
  1. Go to the Address Book on your smartphone.
  2. Click the contact you wish to edit.
  3. Press the Menu key.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Press the Menu key.
  6. Click Add Custom Phone Tune.
  7. Click the trackwheel to view the list of ringtones and select a ringtone from the list that appears or click "Browse..." to select from the Ringtones folder.
  8. Press the Menu key.
  9. Click Save.
Delete a ringtone

You can only delete media files that you have added.

  1. In the media application of your smartphone, click Ringtones.
  2. Click a media folder that contains ringtones.
  3. Highlight a ringtone.
  4. Press the Menu key.
  5. Click Delete.
